In the early 1980s, before he became famous as conductor of the Tafelmusik Choir, Ivars Taurins conducted what was then the Fanshawe Community Orchestra for two years. A few years later Erna Van Daele became our conductor, shown here rehearsing the orchestra. Also shown in this picture are, from left to right, Jim and Margaret Whitby, Arnold McKee, Christine Ong, and Peter Rechnitzer - all still members of our orchestra as of 2004.
